What about the rest of Europe?

Why does Changan Automobile have different brands such as Deepal, Avtar and Nevo?

Changan has multiple brands to target different market segments, create unique brand identities, and focus on specific technologies such as new energy vehicles (NEVs). This strategy allows Changan to reach a wider range of customers with distinct needs and expectations.

Does the word Changan mean anything in English?

The name "Changan" or Chang'an (长安) is a Chinese phrase that means "Perpetual Peace" or "Everlasting Peace" in English. This signifies the company’s heritage and a promise of lasting safety and prosperity.

What effort is Changan Automobile making to produce vehicles and batteries as environmentally friendly as possible?

Changan Automobile's battery plan aims to create internationally leading battery technology and lead the industry's sustainable development. We have been actively promoting and setting the target of achieving carbon peak by 2027 and carbon neutrality by 2045. On this green development journey, Changan Automobile has consistently demonstrated determination, strategically advancing step by step, and establishing milestones toward a new era. In terms of environmentally friendly manufacturing, in 2022, Changan Automobile underwent a transformation in its energy utilisation structure. Throughout the year, it successfully utilised 37.76 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity, resulting in a noteworthy reduction of 32,000 tons of carbon emissions. The carbon emission levels for Changan Automobile's independently branded vehicle manufacturing saw a significant year-on-year decrease of 5.1%.

Ownership

What should be done if a warning light is illuminated in my vehicle or a fault occurs?

Please follow any instructions on the driver's display first. If necessary, please get in touch with your local Changan Dealer to book an appointment.

Do I have roadside assistance?

moving with confidence. Therefore, every new Changan vehicle comes with 12 months of complimentary roadside assistance, giving you complete peace of mind from the moment you take the wheel. Your cover extends across the UK and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What do I do in the event of a breakdown?

Please call Changan Assistance on 0208 603 9609. They will organise help and ensure that you are mobile again as soon as possible.

What do I do if I get a puncture?

Changan Assistance will help in the event of a puncture. They can help temporarily repair a tyre (if possible) or relay you to your local Changan Dealer for a permanent repair or tyre replacement. Changan Automobile does not cover the cost of replacement tyres as punctures are not classified as a manufacturing defect. Generally, a tyre can only be repaired if it is a small puncture (less than 6mm in diameter) and falls within the central ¾ of the tyre. Anywhere else is deemed unsafe to repair as it is too close to the sidewall. Other factors to take into consideration are what the tyre was punctured with and the general condition of the tyre (when considering the British Standard BSAU159 regulations). If the tyre is showing any sidewall damage, if there is visible bead wire or the rubber is distorted and cracking, then the tyre cannot be safely repaired and will need replacing.

If I am in an accident or my car is damaged, what should I do?

In case of any kind of accident or damage, report this without delay in accordance with your insurance provider’s requirements and ensure that such damage is repaired at your local Changan Dealer. In the event of a break-in, theft or collision, please contact and consult with the police without delay. What happens in the case of maintenance/inspection?

When your vehicle is due for a service, please contact your local Changan Dealer so that you can book a time that is convenient for you.

Do I get a courtesy car when my Changan is in for repairs?

Yes, if you experienced a breakdown, a courtesy car will be provided via our Changan Assistance team for a set period. For any normal maintenance or inspection appointments, please speak with your local Changan Dealer for availability.

Can I carry animals in my car?

Please check with your finance provider, but generally, yes, you are allowed to safely carry animals in your vehicle, following local laws. You will be liable for any damage they may cause (for example, a rip in the material) and any excessive cleaning costs when returning your vehicle.

Insurance

You are responsible for obtaining your own insurance cover from the date the vehicle is collected. The cost of car insurance varies depending on several factors such as the vehicle specification, your age, driving experience and where the vehicle is to be kept. Your insurance provider must be an authorised provider of motor insurance in the UK (i.e. approved by the FCA). If you drive abroad, you must make sure the insurance includes this cover, and you may want to check with your insurer if your policy has extra cover for things like theft or damage.

Where can I get information about parts and accessories?

Please speak with your local Changan Dealer to discuss accessories available for your vehicle. They will be able to arrange the purchase and installation of these.

Which Changan Automobile models are available in the UK?

The Changan Deepal S07 electric mid-size SUV is already available. The compact class SUV Changan Deepal S05 will be available early 2026 in BEV, with the plug-in hybrid versions of both following later on in the year. We then plan a phased launch of a range of Changan Automobile models in the market.

Where can I find technical data and equipment variants?

What are the biggest differences between the Changan Deepal S05 and the Changan Deepal S07?

The Changan Deepal S05 is the more compact, price-oriented model, which also offers a powerful all-wheel-drive variant despite a smaller battery. The Changan Deepal S07 offers generous space and high-quality equipment - perfect for families and comfort lovers.

Which battery is installed in the models?

The Changan Deepal S05 uses an LFP battery of around 69 kWh, while the Deepal S07 comes with an NCM battery of around 80 kWh.

How far can I drive on one charge?

Changan Deepal S07: Up to 295 miles (WLTP).
Changan Deepal S05: Up to 300 miles with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and 275 miles with all-wheel drive (AWD). Range figures are based on the WLTP combined cycle. These figures may not reflect real-world driving results. Actual range will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, driving style, external conditions, weather, vehicle load, accessories fitted and road conditions.

How long does it take to charge the Changan Deepal S07?

The Changan Deepal S07 supports 11kW AC charging and up to 93kW DC fast charging.
AC charging (11kW): Approximately 7.5 hours for a full charge – ideal for overnight charging at home.
DC fast charging (93 kW): Approximately 35 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.
The actual charging time may vary depending on the charging power of the station and environmental conditions.

How long does it take to charge the Changan Deepal S05?

The Changan Deepal S05 supports 11kW AC charging and up to 200kW DC fast charging.
AC charging (11kW): Approximately 7.5 hours for a full charge – perfect for overnight charging.
DC fast charging (200 kW): Approximately 150 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
Charging time may vary depending on the charging station's output power and environmental factors.

Is there bidirectional loading? Can it also be used to store electricity in the house?

Not yet, but we are working on making this technology available.

Can I use the vehicle to operate electrical devices while camping?

Yes. Both the S07 and S05 support the V2L (vehicle-to-load) function with an output power of up to 6 kW. With the correct adaptor, you can easily operate or charge electrical devices such as kettles, lamps or laptops on the road or while camping. Please speak to your local Changan Dealer for more information.

What should I do with the battery if I want to scrap the vehicle?

Please get in touch with your local Changan Dealer if battery recycling or disposal is required. Our dealers will assist you in organising a professional and environmentally friendly take-back and disposal in accordance with the applicable regulations.

In which BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) segment does the Changan Deepal S07 belong?

BEV is not a segment in itself; it is a powertrain. The Deepal S07 for the UK is in the D-SUV segment, which challenges the Tesla Model Y & VW ID4 as comparisons.

Can I have a towbar retrofitted?

Currently, a towbar can only be fitted at the factory when configured with your vehicle. However, please speak with your local Changan Dealer for more information.

The maximum towing capacity is 1500kg. The maximum load of capacity of the hitch ball head is 75kg.

Are there autonomous driving features?

Yes, this is an ‘L2 driving system’ where autonomous features will control elements of the drive such as steering assist, lane keeping assist, braking assist and so on. Drivers must constantly monitor the road and vehicle.

What is the base price?

The on-the-road price is £39,990.

Is the tow bar included in the base price?

No, this is an optional extra.

Yes. ADAS, or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, are electronic safety and convenience features in a car that use sensors, cameras, and software to help the driver. These systems work to reduce accidents by assisting with tasks like parking, lane keeping, and emergency braking, and range from simple aids like parking sensors to more complex automated functions.

Is there a dashboard?

Yes, but instead of an instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, everything is managed through the Central Control Display, with driver assists also available in the Heads-Up Display (HUD).

What sound system does it have?

The Deepal premium 350W sound system has 14 speakers, including the Driver Headrest Speaker.

Yes, you can connect wirelessly to both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You can also utilise Bluetooth functions.

What kind of keys do I get?

With your brand-new Deepal S07, you will get a Smart Key with a key blade. You can also share a Digital key using the MyChangan App.

Can someone else drive my car?

Yes, as long as the person is insured to do so, you can share the Digital key to allow access.

Does my vehicle have a tracker?

No, we do not provide a tracking service. However, we are working on making this technology available soon. Currently, you are protected by a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser.

How often will a service be needed?

Every 12 months or 12,000miles whichever is sooner.

Warranty

What is the warranty coverage?

You can find all of our warranty information here. We offer a 7-year or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) basic coverage.

Are there conditions for the warranty to apply?

Yes, your Changan vehicle must have a full-service history, in line with our recommended servicing schedule and using Changan-approved parts.

Do parts come with a warranty?

Yes, 12 months.

Does the high-voltage (HV) battery have a state-of-health warranty?

Does the high-voltage (HV) battery have a state-of-health warranty? Yes, the threshold is 70% and HV battery warranty is 8 years or 124,000 miles (whichever comes first).

Is the warranty transferred to a new owner of the vehicle?

Yes, provided the vehicle is still within the coverage period.

Is there a warranty coverage for commercial use of the vehicle?

Yes, warranty is limited to 3 years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first)

Charging

Can I charge at home?

Yes, if you have a home charger, you can use either a tethered or untethered cable.

How often do I need to charge?

This is dependent on how often you drive your vehicle. You can charge from 30-80% in approximately 35 minutes.

Where are my nearest charging stations?

There are many applications you can utilise to find your nearest charging station. While in your vehicle, you can search for these using the satellite navigation system.

Is the national infrastructure ready for EVs?

Yes, the UK is actively working to build out its EV infrastructure and is considered one of the more prepared nations, but it's a continuous, challenging build-out requiring sustained investment, innovation, and collaboration to fully meet future demand and ensure a smooth transition.

Can you overcharge?

No, you cannot overcharge an EV because there are built-in battery management systems that prevent it. These systems stop the charging process at 100% and use a "trickle charge" to keep the battery topped up as needed, but avoiding constant full charges is still recommended for long-term battery health.

Is it safe to charge overnight or in the rain?

Yes, it is completely safe to charge an EV overnight or in the rain, as all EV charging equipment (cables, ports, home chargers) is designed to be waterproof, sealed, and built with multiple safety systems to handle wet conditions and standard adverse weather like rain or snow. Just avoid extremely harsh conditions like severe storms with high winds or charging in deep, standing water where components could become submerged, and ensure your equipment isn't visibly faulty.

What should I do if I do not use the car for a long time?

To help prevent unwanted battery drain when not using your vehicle for extended periods of time, store it in a garage or temperature-controlled environment to avoid weather extremes. Regularly monitor the battery’s state of health through the MyChangan App, and adjust vehicle settings, such as scheduled charging or energy-saving modes, while disabling unnecessary features like cabin preconditioning. Maintaining the battery between 20% and 80% charge, and aiming for around 80% before leaving the vehicle parked for an extended time, further supports long-term battery health and minimises charge loss.

Do I need my own charging cable?

No, a type 2 cable will be provided with your vehicle. Some charging stations will provide a tethered cable connection.

What should I do if my vehicle does not charge/stops charging?

Ensure the charging station is functioning and the vehicle is correctly connected. Please follow any instructions provided by the charging station or vehicle. Ensure you have a method of payment and seek assistance from any staff available at the charging station. Does Changan Automobile offer leasing for private and business customers?

Yes, we offer leasing for both private and commercial customers. Please speak with your local Changan Dealer for more information.

Is there an option to take over the vehicle at the end of the leasing period?

The option to take over the vehicle at the end of the lease period exists but must be agreed with your Changan Dealer before the contract is signed.

Can I apply for leasing or financing directly online?

Financing and leasing offers are arranged exclusively through our dealer network. Online processing is currently not possible.

What documents are required for a financing request?

You can obtain all the necessary financial documents from your local Changan Dealer when placing your order with them.

Can I part-exchange my old car?

Yes, please speak with your local Changan Dealer. You can use the value of your old vehicle towards the purchase of your new Changan.

How can I order a vehicle?

You order your vehicle directly through your local Changan Dealer. The Dealer Locator page can help you find your closest Changan Dealer.

What are the current delivery times for Changan models?

There is stock availability for immediate delivery. If a vehicle needs to be built to order, the delivery time is approximately 3 months.

How does the vehicle handover work?

The vehicle is handed over at your local Changan Dealer.

Do I need to bring anything to collect my vehicle?

To collect your vehicle, you must present a valid driving licence and evidence of your insurance cover to your local Changan Dealer. The same conditions apply if you arrange for the delivery of your vehicle.

Is there a possibility for a test drive before ordering?

Yes. You can arrange a test drive at any time. This can be requested on our website, here. You can select your preferred Changan Dealer, and they will contact you to arrange a convenient time. Alternatively, you can directly contact your local Changan Dealer to arrange.

What ways can you buy a Changan model?

Your local Changan Dealer will be happy to explain the different purchasing methods. They will give you all the details you need to make an informed decision about the right product for you.

Test Drives

How long is the test drive allowed?

Usually, a test drive would take up to an hour, and you can expect to drive 10-20 miles to experience the vehicle's full capabilities. If you would like an extended test drive, please speak to your local Changan Dealer.

Will I be the driver or the passenger?

Either way, it is totally up to you!

Can I take children on a test drive?

Yes, ensure all safety measures are followed, and child seats are used where necessary.

What do I need to bring?

Your driving licence is essential. You may need to provide a DVLA check code too; your local Changan Dealer will help you retrieve this.

Maps

Who provides the in-vehicle satellite navigation maps data?

Will Changan Automobile release regular updates to the satellite navigation system?

Yes, optimisations will be made via over-the-air software updates. See section “Software Updates – Over the Air (OTA)” below.

How do I change the map view?

You can typically select different map views, such as 3D or satellite, through the settings.

Do I need an internet connection for satellite navigation to function?

Yes, to provide real-time updates; however, if the signal is temporarily lost, your satellite navigation will continue to function in offline mode.

The satellite navigation is showing my location incorrectly or is not moving.

Ensure the vehicle has a clear view of the sky and is not in an area with poor signal (e.g., a covered car park). If the problem persists, this could indicate a hardware issue, and you should contact your local Changan Dealer, who will help diagnose the issue.

Connectivity

Is there a Changan app for my vehicle?

Yes. The MyChangan App provides users with several services, including but not limited to range and battery status, charging progress and scheduled charging, status check of doors and windows with locking and unlocking options.

How do I register for an account?

All you need is an email address! Follow the in-app prompts to complete registration.

How do I bind my vehicle to my account?

Your local Changan Dealer will initiate the bind between your vehicle and your account. You will be asked to finalise this once in the MyChangan app.

How do I personalise my vehicle?

There is a QR code on the central control display that allows you to personalise many features.

Can I have multiple users in the app?

For safety reasons, only one user can bind and control the car at a time. However, if you want to allow family or friends to use your vehicle, you can use the ‘share key’ function in the app.

I am no longer connected to my vehicle. What should I do?

If you are sure you have logged in with the correct email address, then please contact your local Changan Dealer who will be able to assist further.

The MyChangan app remote features are not functioning.

Please ensure your vehicle is parked in an area with good network coverage. The lack of a signal can prevent the remote features from functioning. If the problem persists in an area of good network coverage, then please contact your local Changan Dealer.

How do I connect my car to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay?

Through the central control display, navigate to Settings > Network & Connections > Bluetooth. This will search for and connect to devices via Bluetooth. After a device's first successful Bluetooth connection, if the device meets the conditions for Android Auto connection, an automatic pop-up will appear with a "Enable Android Auto" prompt. Once the connection is successful, the vehicle system will automatically switch to the Android Auto screen mirroring page. The same steps can be followed for Apple CarPlay connection.

Software Updates – Over the Air (OTA)

What does OTA mean?

Over-the-air software update. Traditionally, vehicle software updates were completed at a workshop. Now you can update your vehicle anytime, anywhere!

How often will the software be updated via OTA?

Several times per year.

How long does an OTA software installation take?

Be prepared that it could take up to 1.5 hours. It is dependent on network coverage, so it could be quicker!

Why are we providing OTA software updates instead of doing it at the workshop?

OTA updates are provided because they offer significant advantages in convenience, efficiency, safety, and cost savings compared to traditional workshop visits. OTA allows the product to continuously improve.

Which car models can have the software update through OTA?

All Changan Automobile models are OTA compatible.

You can find our privacy policy on our website. It regulates the processing, storage and rights of user data.

Are you REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) compliant?

No, we currently do not need any FCA permissions. However, all our Changan Dealers are.
